What is a “Menaje de Casa”?
When you plan a move to Mexico, there are certain things that you will want to take with you. You may hear the term “menaje de casa”. So, what does it mean? Menaje de casa is a list of items to be imported into Mexico. Mexican Customs is VERY strict about what you can and can’t bring into the country. For example, you cannot label a box with clothes and shoes in it “Shoes and Clothes”. You must be very specific. Example: 5 pairs of shoes, 15 shirts. (more…)

Driving in or through Mexico, DF (Mexico City)

So you’ve decided to embark on a trip through or to Mexico City. You will want to know the regulations before driving through DF (Distrito Federal, Federal district).

Make sure you have nothing in the vehicle that is not yours and that you cannot account for. Make sure you have notarized copies of all your documents (driver’s license, passport, FM3, title to the vehicle) at home or in the car and keep the originals in the other location. (more…)
